Breaking:Other than Travis Kelce, two Chiefs players get NFL fines: Patrick Mahomes alongside two players

In order to get ready for the Divisional Round of the 2025 NFL playoffs, Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes will get a week off. However, Travis Kelce wasn’t the only player who recently attracted the league office’s notice, so the Kansas City Chiefs might want to focus on their discipline first.

In addition to the Chiefs’ veteran tight end, the NFL also penalized safety Jaden Hicks and wide receiver Xavier Worthy for their roles in Kansas City’s victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas in Week 17. Worthy received a $14,069 fine for unsportsmanlike conduct during a touchdown celebration, just like Kelce.

However, the Chiefs wideout’s infraction was a violent gesture, whereas the tight end was punished for “use of prop” after dunking the ball over the goal post.

In contrast, Hicks was fined $5,151 for insulting Steelers wide receiver George Pickens following a dropped pass, which resulted in a smaller sanction.

In any case, it’s reasonable to assume that Reid and Mahomes will both likely pay attention to the circumstances inside the building.

Even if the players paid the price this time, these kinds of violations could become expensive during the playoffs, when there is less room for error. The Chiefs have a higher objective this season: to become the first three-peat in NFL history, even though Reid and Mahomes have already won three Super Bowls in the previous five years.
